The Third Coming of Jesus?

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,

As salamu 'alikum wr wb!

THE THIRD COMING OF JESUS?

Now I know many are going to be scratching thier heads and thinking 'The Third Coming of Jesus' what ever could he mean? Well I know it doesn't have the grandeur and Hollywood excitement as the 'Second Coming' does, but after all why not?

Why don't the Christians and others talk about the 'Third Coming of Jesus' or for that matter the 27th Coming of Jesus? Because it just doesn't have the bang that Jesus Part 2 has. Everyone anticipates a good sequel to a great movie; however it does get over done when there becomes a Rocky V and than a Rocky VI one wonders when it will ever end.

You see in the Bible It says the following:

"Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre....

And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest...And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus...
... And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together... And as they spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, Peace be unto you....
...And as it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and was carried up into heaven." (Luke 24:1-51) (Mark 16:9-19)

Jesus went up into heaven on the day of his resurrection.

"And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peadce be unto you. (John 20:26) So Jesus goes up into heaven atleast eight days after his resurrection.
Or was it forty days after his resurrection?

"Until the day in which he was taken up...he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
....
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud recieved him out of thier sight. (Acts 1:2-3,9)
There are a number of ways to handle this difficulty.
1) Take Luke 24:51 and Mark 16:19 out of the Bible (many have opted for this)
2) Harmonize the accounts and the King James Version can be saved.

I think if we use our imaginations and exegesis a bit option 2 is quite feesible. You see no where does the New Testament text say Jesus didn't return does it? So what we could speculate is that Jesus went up into heaven that day as Luke 24:51 says; however after doing what ever buisness he had to do in heaven he decided to phase back down like they do in Star Trek. Than Jesus hung around for a while; infact this kind of Jesus could come and go as he darn well pleased.

Infact it becomes even more possible considering that many Christians believe that Jesus appeared when ever he wanted in the 'Old Testament' as the 'Angel of the Lord'.

Example:
"And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarah's maid, where you going? And what place do you intend to go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarah. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands. The angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
(Genesis 16:7-10)

So we can see from this that Jesus would beam in and out of Earth like Star Trek from time to time... The point is that instead of waiting for the Second coming of Jesus everyone should sit back and relax because, indeed we maybe waiting for the 3rd coming.

If we are to believe the 'Angel of the Lord' theory of many Christian sects we could be waiting for the 125th coming of Jesus though it won't sell many videos and t-shirts!

A must see: Methodist minister embraces Islam

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,

As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace and Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you)

This blog post will be about Jerald F. Dirks a former ordained Methodist minister who has embraced Islam.

Dr. Dirks enrolled at Harvard College as a philosophy major in 1967. He was named a Hollis Scholar, signifying that he was a top pre-theology student in college. He worked as a youth minister at a fairly large United Methodist Church during his freshman and sophmore years. He graduated in 1971 and was admitted to the Harvard Divinity School thereafter, from where he graduated with a Master's degree in Divinity. During his seminary education, he also completed a two-year externship program as a hospital chaplain at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. He also holds a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver. His story on how he came to Islam is at the following link.

*note* to those who click the link above I found that clicking "next" would not go to the next page. To solve this you go to the http address and after dirks put 2 for example /dirks2.shtml. You also do this for pages 2-6.

I have also put in a very interesting video discussion about Dr. Dirks talking on the issue 'Did Jesus really die for the sins of the world'.

Insh'Allah for those interested his web site along with all his very excellent and insightful books can be found at the following.

If Allah wills I hope more sincere Christian Evangelist, Doctors of religion, lay people, and truth seekers among others come to recognise Islam is the truth. The more challenging part is living that truth and being rejected by those around you. Living among Muslims who also many times import their culture and try and ask converts to do things like 'wear Arab garb' or 'change your name'. Coming to Islam is not about becomming an Arab it's about becomming Muslim.

The Shocking Origins of Christmas!!!

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem

As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace, Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you all)

The Shocking Origins of Christmas!!!

This blog considers the dark origins of the Christian religions most cherished holiday namely Christ-mas.

Allot of Christians are not aware that December 25th is no where in the Bible nor is there any encouragement to celebrate December 25th as Jesus birthday.

Most Christians are not even aware that Orthrodox Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus on January 7th and not December 25th as is the most popular choice.

THE FIRST CHRISTIAN AMERICANS THE PURITANS BANNED CHRIST-MAS

Many do not know that the early Christian 'fathers' of America the 'Puritans' also forbade the practice and celebrate of Christ-mas.

Why would the first American Christians do this?

Because they knew the truth. The truth that not a single one of Jesus disciples celebrated Jesus birth day on December 25th. The truth that December 25th or ANY DATE for that matter is no where mentioned in the Bible in connection with Jesus birth. Lastly and more serious of all that in reality December 25th was what the Romans called " Dies Natalis Solis Invicti " The birth day of the unconquered Sun! December 25th was the birthday of the Sun God Mithras. This is also the winter solstice. What does Winter Solstice mean? It occurs around December 21st and every day after this day there is a little more light than the the day before it. To those who worshiped Mithras-the sun god it would seem that the eternal god of light has conquered darkness.

Jesus is reported to have said,

"But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned." Matthew 12:36-37.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS" WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Most people think that the phrase 'merry Christmas' means 'Joy! The Birth of Christ! It could not be further from the truth.

The word "Merry is simple to define. It means to be happy, joyful and/or having a light-heart.

How about the word Christ-mas? By definition, it means "death of Christ".

All honest truth seeking Christians should read on, however if you are not honest in wanting truth on this matter you might as well stop right here and continue on with your ways.

I have found many Christians who after hearing the factual presentation and truth say 'So What!' and 'Who Cares!' They are obviously not discerning with the spirit and follow their own desires! Allah mentions about such people in the Qur'an when he says,

"When it is said to them: "Follow what God has revealed:" They say: "Never!" we shall follow the ways of our ancestors." What! even though their ancestors were void of wisdom and guidance? The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of knowledge."
(Holy Qur'an 2:170-171)

The word Christmas comes from 'Cristes Maesse", an early English phrase that means "Mass of Christ." It is interesting to note that the word "Mass", as used by the Roman Catholics, has always been rejected by the Protestants such as Lutherans, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and so forth.

The word "Mass" is strictly a Catholic word and so is the word 'Christ MASS'. So as a side note all those Christian denominations that hate on the Catholic Church become Catholic for a day on December 25th! It's the day when all the "wayward daughters" of the Roman church return to their mother," the scarlet harlot"!

Mass from the Latin 'missa' simply means dismissal. So literally merry Christ-mas would mean if literally translated as 'Happy Christ dismissed' you know like when the teacher says 'class dismissed'. So do Christians really want to go around saying, "Jesus dismissed"?

Dismissed means 'removed'. And is this not telling? There is nothing Jesus like or Christian about the whole celebration. A person who was born in a manger, who taught simplicity and humility and love for fellow man. Now we have in place is a tree, bright lights festive songs and possibly the BIGGEST MATERIALISTIC HOLIDAY ON EARTH!

Now in a religious usage mass means a "death sacrifice." The impact of this fact is horrifying and shocking; for when millions of people are saying , "Merry Christmas", they are literally saying "Happy Be the End of Christ" or "Merry is the Death of Christ". For Muslims to say this is blasphemous even with the best of intentions. The Holy Qur'an asserts in 4:157 Jesus Christ did not die!

So when Santa Claus the fat man in the red suit starts laughing boisterously and he says, "Ho ho ho Merry Christmas!" What could be so funny about the following picture?

Than you place your children in the arms of a man who promises them gifts that he never gives! What false hopes is that?

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christ Mas! Imagine streets filled with people drinking beer, dancing and cheering with festive lights all around. Than take a good look at this picture to my left? Do you not have any honor or shame? How sick can people be?
This must be one of the most sadistic celebrations of all time!

"On page 537 of the Catholic Encyclopedia, it says, "In the Christian law, the supreme sacrifice is that of the Mass." It goes on to say, "The supreme act of worship consist of essentially in an offering of a worthy victim to God, the offering made by a proper person, as a priest, the destruction of the victim." The Latin word for victim is "Hostila" from which the word "host" is derived. The Mass, by definition of those who coined the word, is a sacrifice involving a victim. There is no other meaning for the word "Mass" or "Christ-Mass".

http://www.catholicity.com/encyclopedia/m/mass,sacrifice_of.html

http://www.catholicity.com/encyclopedia/c/christmas.html

"When it is said to them: "Follow what God has revealed:" They say: "Never!" we shall follow the ways of our ancestors." What! even though their ancestors were void of wisdom and guidance? The parable of those who reject Faith is as if one were to shout Like a goat-herd, to things that listen to nothing but calls and cries: Deaf, dumb, and blind, they are void of knowledge."
(Holy Qur'an 2:170-171)

Now do not get me wrong. This is a great time for friends and family alike to share in the joy of one another. But to claim this day as the birth day of Jesus is simply fallacious.

Oral Roberts Word of Faith and Miracles

Oral Roberts Word of Faith and Miracles

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,

As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace, Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you)

Well in light of the recent demise of Oral Roberts I thought it would be appropriate to highlight a few things about a man who arguably is the founder of the 'Word of Faith' movement.

Above is Oral Roberts in his favourite "give me your cash cause Jesus said so" pose.

It must be kept in mind that Oral Roberts who recently died at age 91 was supported by Pat Robertson club of the 700 club fame and Billy Graham as well. Not to mention he is in league with Rod Parsley of the 'America was destined to destroy Islam' fame.

Without doubt a certain passage of the Bible seems to do justice to all these word of faith ministers.

"Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through th elaying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, saying, "Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may recieve the Holy Spirit" But Peter said to him, 'May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!"
(Acts 8:18)

Is it not true though that many people are healed in the name of Jesus and don't miracles happen on a regular basis in the 'Word of Faith' movement?

"For there shall arise false Christ, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
(Matthew 24:24)

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' (Matthew 7:21-23)

Now it should be clear to everyone that Hindus, Buddhist, or Muslims do not claim to heal anyone in the name of Jesus. The only people on this earth who claim to do that are those who call themselves Christians. The verses above show that such people will be rebuked by Jesus and that he will plainly say to them I never knew you!

The other curiousity to all of this is the fact that there are many charismatic churches but each believes that the other is false! I was once told by a 'Oneness Jesus Only Pentacostal' that 'For everything God has Satan has a counterfeit'. O.K This may be true but it begs the question. How do we know what is counterfeit and what is genuine? If I can go to a Trinitarian Pentacostal church and than go across the street to a Oneness Pentacostal church and be 'slain in the spirit' and 'speak in tongues' and flop around on the floor as such than doesn't this whole experience become subjective?

Also you must be aware that Jesus does not have the power to heal people who do not have faith.

"And Jesus did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith."
(Matthew 13:58)

"And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace." (Luke 8:48)

Jesus just can't walk up to you and heal you. You have to have faith.

For example if you look at the Bible and than see the parallel passages such as

"And when evening had come, they brought to him MANY who were demon-possessed; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and he healed ALL who were sick." Matthew 8:16

"And at evening, when the sun did set, they brought unto him ALL that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. And ALL the city was gathered together at the door And he healed MANY that were sick of various diseases, and cast out MANY devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him." (Mark 1:32-34)

So this raises some interesting points. If you look at the two passages above. The first one says they brought to Jesus Many people and he healed them All. So for example the many is 20 people and he healed all of those 20.

However the seccond passage says they brought Jesus All again let's say 20 people and he healed many of them let's say 15. In this example Jesus does not have the ability to heal everyone.

You must have faith. This also shows that Jesus by himself is deficient to heal everyone. Jesus can cast out demons as demons can have faith and believe.

"You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe- and tremble!" James 2:19

"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. Acts 2:22

So occasionally Jesus was humbled by God to show that it was indeed God doing the miracles and not Jesus by his own accord. Jesus cannot heal anyone if they don't have faith. Faith is something that comes from God. Jesus couldn't give people faith to be healed which also shows he was not God. Jesus also could not heal ALL the people who were brought to him as cited in Mark 1:32-34 which also is proof enough that he is not God.

Five Point Calvinist John MacArthur ask 'Are You Really Saved'?

>Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,

As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace, Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you)

Five Point Calvinist John MacArthur ask 'Are You Really Saved'?

I was truly amazed to see one of the top Christian
Evangelist John MacArthur in his book, "Saved without a Doubt"really drop the ball on one of the major selling points of Christianity.

It seems that Christians like to gloat that they 'know' that they are saved. Can a Muslim stand up and say for 100% certainty that he will die and go to heaven! Of course he cannot! But we Christians can be so very sure of our salvation! Yeah right! Apparently his book is an epic fail!

Interestingly John MacArthur is supported by the very poor exegete and apologist James White. In fact James White supported John MacArthur against Bobb Ross back in the day when John MacArthur was against the idea that Jesus eternally pre-existed as the son of God! Interesting stuff!

He is known to have wrote an Islam bashing book. Of course one wonders among all these evangelist if it's in the interest of educating people about the 'dangers of Islam' or riding the popular wave of animo
sity towards Islam and Muslims in general to score a quick buck. Seems like anyone these days who makes a video mini series or writes a book tht
a rails on Islam makes a pretty penny.

Any who here is his failed attack on Islam.

There is a very excellent Christian critique of this book at

http://http//www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2006/june/29.38.html

Apparently MacArthur could use some re-tooling of his own Christian theology. Maybe a time for some introspection. His book on the most fundamental and critical issue facing Christians was by all accounts another epic fail! I have given the link to his '11 biblical test of genuine salvation' which to me just doesn't really add up to much!

http://so4j.com/is-it-real-11-biblical-tests-of-genuine-salvation-john-macarthur.php

11 Biblical Tests of Genuine Salvation - Links

By John MacArthur

1. Do you enjoy Fellowship with God and Christ?
2. Are you Sensitive to Sin in your Life?
3. Do you Obey the Scriptures?
4. Do you Reject this Evil World?
5. Do you Love Christ and eagerly await His Return?
6. Do you see a Decreasing Pattern of Sin in your Life?
7. Do you Love other Christians?
8. Do you Receive Answers to your Prayers?
9. Do you Experience the Ministry of the Holy Spirit?
10. Can you Discern between Spiritual Truth and Error?
11. Have you Suffered on Account of your Faith in Christ?
My comments:

Now Imagine I fill a room up with Mormons, Southern Baptist, Oneness Pentacostals, Jehovah’s Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Methodist, Lutherans, Catholics, Monatanist, insert favorite sect or denomination here ----------.

O.k So the room is filled up with all of these groups and more. How do you think they will respond to the 11 questions? If this is the case why are Christians all fighting with each other and why does every small town in America have about 37 different Churches all screaming they are saved and the others are doomed to hell? I am pretty sure that all Christians of every shade and stripe could answer positive to the above 11 questions! Mind you John MacArthur is one of Christianities top scholars and preachers! I’m starting to wonder if this assurance of salvation that Christians always talk about isn’t something their so sure of after all.

John MacArthur has just thrown the blood, the cross/tree and everything else that Paul taught right out the window! These 11 test most of if not all which are subjective could be passed by any of the above mentioned groups all of which eye the other has being heretical to some degree or another.

Allah willing I pray that John MacArthur learns and studies more about Islam with Muslims and that Allah opens his heart to the truth. I pray John MacArthur's family accept's Islam and helps to rebuild America into the great nation that she is.

Allah willling more blog post dealing with issues relating to salvation and eternal security will be published in the future.

Muhammed (saw) marriage to Ayesha at the age of 9.

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,

As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you).

I will try and keep this blog short and sweet. It seems much hoopla is made over the fact that the prophet Muhammed (saw) married Ayesha at the age of 9 years old.

It amazes me how much time Muslim apologist spend dealing with this subject or why it's even an issue at all. So here are some very quick and simple replies to those who object and make such a huge fuss over it.
1) A challenge and a response to practitioners of Judaism and Christians.
2) A challenge and response to Agnostics and Atheist.

Firstly the challenge to the practitioners of Judaism and Christians is this. Can any practitioner of Judaism or Christianity bring forth a single text from the TNCH or the Bible that gives the appropriate age that a person should get married?

If you cannot than all you are simply doing is allowing post modernism to dictate your morality and be careful because the Bible plainly states:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"
(Proverbs 3:5)

So this pretty much takes care of any would be attacks from Judaism and Christianity.

Now the challenge to the Agnostics and the Atheist.

If we put God aside and out of the picture and we let evolution dictate than we can see clearly that if a woman or young girl has menstruation and a menstrual cycle she is clearly ready to have a baby by the dictates of evolution. I am not talking about mental maturity at all. I am simply stating a fact of evolution. If you have a problem with it take it up with evolution!

We can argue the pros and cons of women having and giving birth at different ages but that is beside the point the fact of the matter is a female can have a baby at a very young age.

So in conclusion we have to concede the points.

1) There is no where in the Bible that stipulates an age for marriage its up to cultural norms and the whims of society. If it was so important God would have given a law that dictated such.

2) According to evolution when a female child has menstruation and develops eggs she is able to get pregnant and ready to give birth.

3) Ayesha's father Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) consented to the marriage.

4) Not a single document any where shows anyone of that time condemning the practice of that marriage, not the Jews not the Christians not the Pagans.

5) The outrage against the fact that Muhammed (saw) married someone at the age of 9 is a modern phenomenon of post modernism and western orientated world looking at the rest of the world through it's spectacles.

Please see the following link on the youngest mother ever. Very interesting.

I also thought this article from the Jewish Talmud was thought provoking.

Debate: Muhammed in the Bible Anis Shorrosh vs. Shabir Ally

MUHAMMED IN THE BIBLE ANIS SHORROSH VS SHABIR ALLY

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem (With the Name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful)

As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace and Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you)

This debate 'Muhammed in the Bible' between Anis Shorrosh and Shabir Ally happened in
May of 2005 in Glasgow. It was one of a four during a debate series held between the two.

The format of the debate is as follows
Shabir Ally Opening 40 minutes
Anis Shorrosh Opening 40 minutes
Shabir Ally rebuttal 18 minutes
Anis Shorrosh rebuttal 18 minutes
Shabir Allay rebuttal 9 minutes
Anis Shorrosh rebuttal 9 minutes
Shabir Ally closing 4 minutes
Anis Shorrosh closing 4 minutes.

The debate is as follows.

My review of the debate:
I think Dr. Anis Shorrosh like many of his debates spends more time preaching rather than engaging with the elements of the debate.

Here is a Christian review of the debate who was not very pleased with Shorrosh.
http://viewfromthebasement.typepad.com/my_weblog/2005/05/i_could_have_cr.html

In part 3 of this debate from 7:55-8:15 he makes some very embarrassing assertions. Like how did Muhammed (saw) communicate with the Jews at his time? Ummm! Maybe he used Arabic Dr. Shorrosh ever thought about that?

Than the assertion right after that why does Allah call the Qur'an an 'Arabic Qur'an' because there was a 'Jewish Qur'an'. Now that was simply the icing on the cake!

In part 3 at 15:15-16 Anis Shorrosh gave this debate away completely! If it is true as he claims that the Arabic for Paraclete is 'the praised one'. Than this is a HUGE admission by him. Because the Arabic word for 'the praised one' is AHMAD!

Chapter 61 verse 6 of the Holy Qur'an we find:

" Recall that Jesus, son of Mary, said, "O Children of Israel, I am God's messenger to you, confirming the Torah and bringing good news of a messenger to come after me whose name is the 'praised one'. (Ahmad)." Then, when he showed them the clear proofs, they said, "This is profound magic."

In fact this clip from the movie 'the Passion of Christ' was interesting.

And what do the Christians do today after clear proofs are given? They claim it's magic If you see Anis Shorrosh he almost comes unglued! Why is Shabir Ally calm and collected? Why is Anis Shorrosh red in the face, frothing at the mouth and so angry? I mean yeah we can be passionate about what we believe but this guy is truly over the top!
