Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,
As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah be upon you).
Anglican Rev Samuel Green endorses (Islam and Christianity A Common Word) as a site with "integrity".
First off I want to say that I appreciate this very warm gesture from a person who has otherwise spent a great deal of time attacking Islam. For the most part Samuel Green can be an amicable person though he associates with a crowd of people with some questionable credentials.
I wanted to say a big thank you to the Anglican Rev Samuel Green!
Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one's actions. Integrity can be regarded as the opposite of hypocrisy, in that it regards internal consistency as a virtue, and suggests that parties holding apparently conflicting values should account for the discrepancy or alter their beliefs.
The word "integrity" stems from the Latin adjective integer (whole, complete). In this context, integrity is the inner sense of "wholeness" deriving from qualities such as honesty and consistency of character. As such, one may judge that others "have integrity" to the extent that they act according to the values, beliefs and principles they claim to hold.
I wanted to say a big thank you to the Anglican Rev Samuel Green! I am not one to usually do a plug for others but when Rev Samuel Green goes out of his way to stop by this web site and endorse it for integrity I have to respond in kind.
Samuel Green Bio:
Rev. Samuel Green (Anglican), B. Chem. Eng. (UNSW); B. Th., Dip. Min. (MTC). Though Rev Samuel Green stands apart from the legions of Baptist and other Christians who believe in full water immersion during baptism and that the Eucharist should be taken once weekly, he wants Christians to know that they can rise above their differences: (be they Roman Catholic, Methodist, Pedobaptist, Reformed) or what have you and form a common front against Islam.
Unlike the masses of Anglicans who have welcomed homosexuality into the Church with open arms Anglican Rev. Samuel Green is a rabid anti-homosexual. However, do not get him wrong. He hates the sin and not the sinner! Rev. Samuel Green wants homosexuals in the Anglican Church to know that if they do not let go of sin and embrace Christ as their savior their destination is hell. He makes no secret of that. Rev. Samuel Green is no liberal. However, do take note that he distances himself from Reformed theonomy or Christian reconstruction-ism. He see's these ideals as antithetical to Christian teaching and dangerous to Christian missionary out reach. The Anglican Rev. Samuel Green is a committed secularist.
For him to force Christianity upon the masses like so many in the Reformed Christian tradition seek to do is dangerous. This is what makes the Rev. Samuel Green a great ally and friend of the Muslims. He seeks out Muslims who are consistent and like him are concerned about radical and fringe elements with in their own community.
Together Rev. Samuel Green and Muslims can work together on issues they have in common; although they may differ greatly on matters of theology.
Debates:
Samuel Green vs Abdullah Kunde: "The Preservation of the Bible and the Qur'an"
Samuel Green vs Abdullah Kunde: 'The God of the Old Testament Jesus or Allah?
Samuel Green vs Abdullah Kunde: "Tawheed vs Trinity"
Samuel Green vs Sabri Samson "Who is Jesus?"
Samuel Green vs Beylal Racheha "Who is Jesus?"
Samuel Green vs Mustafa Ajra "Did Jesus die for the sins of the world?"
Samuel Green and Keysar Trad 'The Cross and the Crescent"
Websites:
Though Samuel Green's primary out reach to Muslim has been pretty much reactionary and debate seems to be more negative than positive it is hoped that Samuel Green will work with Muslims on joint projects that are of concern to all the great people of Australia and indeed this world.
It means a great deal to me personally that the Anglican Rev Samuel Green would endorse this web site for it's integrity. Thank you respected Rev. Green. May Allah bless you. May Allah also bless the great people of Australia whom recently had to deal with the tragic flooding. The Australian people are resilient and our prayers are with them.
Ken Temple If you have anything relevant to the post itself without going off on your tangents your most welcome to post a comment.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I do not appreciate your veiled attack upon the Anglicans and the Presbyterians and I think that Rev Samuel Green and people like Turetinfan should have the right to respond to people like you and James White.
The fact that you left out my comment, is a negative towards your "integrity". Sometimes you are fair, but in this case, you are not.
ReplyDeleteMy comment was was absolutely relevant, because you wrote -
"The Anglican Rev. Samuel Green is a committed secularist."
And I explained why that is wrong. What are you afraid of ? Why don't you post it?
Commenting on that is absolutely relevant to the post. But you avoided posting it, because it seems you realize I have made a good point.
It is your comments about infant baptism that have nothing to do with the issues here. I did not attack them, I honor and appreciate them (Rev. Green and Turretinfan and other Conservative Bible believing Presbyterians and Anglicans) in Christ and their work. Yes, we disagree over infant baptism, but we appreciate each other and consider each other brothers in Christ.
Your fear of posting honest and reasonable comments does not speak well for integrity.
With the name of Allah, I will let the readers asses this Ken. You started to go on and on about the Anglican Rev Samuel Green. He is perfectly capable of correcting any mistakes in this article and he is free to contact me.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you started on your usual tirade of 'throw everything but the kitchen sink' and I have already told you that this is just not acceptable anymore.
I would propose we let the good Rev speak for himself on rather or not he's a "committed secularist" and when he see's that there needs to be emendation it will happen Allah-willing.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you don't seem to want to respond and honor the title of the entries. For example...
"It is your comments about infant baptism that have nothing to do with the issues here. I did not attack them, I honor and appreciate them (Rev. Green and Turretinfan and other Conservative Bible believing Presbyterians and Anglicans) in Christ and their work. Yes, we disagree over infant baptism, but we appreciate each other and consider each other brothers in Christ. "
This would have been more appropriate under the recent entry and not here. So if you think you can come over here and past what you want on my dime you can think twice buddy.
Other than that when I use my own discretion to ascertain if what you (or anyone else says is relevant) I post it.
I used to have a policy to let anyone post what ever the hell they wanted. I got a bit tired of Christians posting links to videos of people having their heads chopped off under conversion stories.
By the way (James White) does not allow comments on you-tube, and AM web site also moderates comments. So there you go.
Yes, I can understand that kind of moderation that you do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting some of my responses.
Good show!
I understand Dr. White why he doesn't allow any moderation at all at You Tube videos. He did at first, and the atheists came in and cursed and used filthy and dirty language, so he had to shut it all down.
They don't have comment section at all at aomin.org
But anyone is free to call into his Dividing Line program and ask him questions and discuss things.
Believing in separation of church and state is not the same thing as being a "committed secularist".
By the way, where did he endorse your site as one of integrity? You didn't give the URL. or I couldn't find it. I am curious and I am sure others are also.
With the name of Allah.
ReplyDeleteSo as long as we can understand why I moderate comments than this is a good step forward.
James White knows that he is more than welcome to contact me here or at my e-mail should he seek clarifications on any matters. (My e-mails to him remain unanswered) and I am sure he has his reasons.
If you are not saying that a committed secularist is not the same thing as believing in seperation of Church and State than I am afraid you have lost me. Is there some third option Christians are biding time for?
For example are claiming to believe in seperation of church and state now, but latter when you become stronger and have the majority will you implement theonomy like Gary Demar wants? Will you implement Dominion theology like the Assemblies of God lean towards?
Will you implement Christian reconstructionism? How much hold should Christianity have over American society? Would you like to see a day in which government schools are shut down completely Ken?
After all isn't it tax payer money that keeps them afloat? If that is the case shouldn't we say what our children should or should not be taught?
Can Christians join the CIA, FBI and NSA? Should they be involved in espionage, spying, and if possible subterfuge?
I would prefer Samuel Green to come forth and explain his position. He is the best person to do so and to clarify.
You can also ask him personally where he has endorsed this web site. Trust me I do not make claims like this without having the facts.
For me I wont' tell you to go check Google.
Hello Everyone,
ReplyDeleteHere are the comments (see below) I wrote about the integrity of this site. Again I call upon all of us to have integrity in the way we conduct ourselves.

This is a great list. Thank you.
But you need to update Farhan Qureshi's bio. He seems to have renounced Islam. See http://www.faithfreedom.org/articles/apostates-of-islam/i-declare-my-apostasy/
It would really show the integrity of this site if Farhan Qureshi's bio was updated with this fact rather than removed.
