Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,
As salamu 'alikum wr wb (May the Peace, Mercy of Allah and Blessings be upon you).
Update: On Christian-Muslim debates.
I have not had a chance for a while to update the 'Bring Us Your Champions: Christian-Muslim debate section' for some time.
This information will be transferred to the main section. These are the debates that have taken place which are currently not in the main section (those which I have been informed of via e-mail and those of which I am trying to double -confirm have indeed taken place).
Adnan Rashid vs Clive Thorn debate: "Islam or Christianity which is the way forward?"
Bassam Zawadi vs James White debate: "Has Islam Misunderstood Christianity?"
Bassam Zawadi vs Thabiti Anyabwile debate: "How can we find forgiveness from a Holy God?"
Farhan Qureshi (A Muslim from the Salafi sect has left Islam for Atheism). It remains to be seen if he will debate Adam Deen, Hamza Andreas Tzortzis or William Lane Craig in the future.
Abdullah Kunde vs Samuel Green debate: "Tawheed vs Trinity"
Jamal Badawi and Shabir Ally vs Dr. David K. Bernard (www.newlifeupc.org) and Rev J debate:
"The Nature of Jesus Christ in Christianity and Islam"
Adnan Rashid vs Jay Smith debate/discuss: (Christianity and Islam in the Modern World)
Sami Zatari vs Jay Smith debate: "Can Christianity and Islam tolerate each other?"
Sami Zatari vs Louis Ruggerio debate: "Is Jesus Christ God?"
A gentleman by the name of Thomas Thrasher has informed me of the following via my e-mail
"I wanted to let you know of a debate you don't have listed.
The debate was held in Birmingham, Alabama for four evenings (October 21-22, 24-25, 1974) between Salah El Dareer (Muslim) and Hiram O. Hutto (Christian). I am attaching photographs of the debaters.
Proposition 1 was debated the first two sessions: ?Jesus the Messiah is the only begotten Son of God, was crucified for the sins of the world, and the New Testament is God?s final revelation? (Hutto affirmed, El Dareer denied). Proposition 2 was debated the last two sessions: ?The advent of the prophet Mohammed is clearly foretold in both Old and New Testaments, and the Koran is God?s final revelation? (El Dareer affirmed, Hutto denied).
The debate speeches were published in book form as The Hutto-El Dareer Debate. Athens, AL: Hiram O. Hutto, 1978. It is currently available from Faith and Facts Bookstore, Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Hutto-El Dareer Debate is available in book form through Faith and Facts Bookstore, Indianapolis, Indiana. To my knowledge it is not available in pdf online. However, audio recordings of the speeches are available online at http://www.jacksondrive.org/Hutto-El-Dareer-Debate (These can be played online or downloaded)."
I also am aware that Jamal Badawi has had atleast one other debate with William Lane Craig that I do not have on my list. (If any one is aware of that debate when it happened and the subject I would greatly appreciate it).
This is what I have for now and I will continue to update that list (for as long as Christians and Muslims have such exchanges and I am alive).
Please note I try not to list the plethora of debates that have taken place on various chat channels, paltalk, msn, yahoo, aol, gado gado, jabber, icq, in college campus, over the telephone, on street corners etc because as I hope can appreciate that is near to impossible.
